GAMEBALL and JOKER ==> GIANTS at ASTROS 06-22

Hey all, gone all weekend... there was some drinking…there was some food….there was some golf….and I think the Giants got a win….. but I did neglect a couple of write ups…..and I feel very guilty…..it will never happen again…..unless there is food drink and golf involved……

GAMEBALL and JOKER ==> GIANTS at ASTROS 06-22

GAMEBALL

LINCECUM

Well…ok I admit it…I was a little worried…..but looks like the Little Guy is working his way back into form….something as simple as feel for your delivery can drive a pitcher nuts……you know you are out of the groove….so you repeat and think and sometimes that just makes things worse….whether it was a blister or just being human that knocked him off his game…..it looks as it was as simple as that……but good news….his arm is fine…..his body seems fine….and now his mind looks like it is coming back around…..and even though he wasn't the sharpest today…..just HAVING SUCCESS can do wonders for your comfort and your head…..and that’s 1/2 the battle when it comes to a repetitive athletic movement like a pitchers delivery…of a golf swing…..which is why I got to hit the driving range more often…

TIP OF THE CAP :
BURRELL
Newly minted Giant came up with THE hit for the team with a double to tie the game in the 7th and set up the go ahead run at 3rd with 1 out….and looks like we got a good talker as well…..and good hugger as well…..and I got to say, first time I have seen a couple Golden Spikes Guys sharing the love….I wonder if Nuschler and Posey were jealous…..

URIBE
The 11 pitch walk preceding Burrell's double was huge, it through Oswalt off his rhythm and took some steam out of Roy who was carving up the Giants lineup….

SANDOVAL
Hey, he could have easily struck out or been doubled up in the 7th….but had enough bat control to make contact and enough hustle in that shmoolike body to beat it out at 1st…..

NATE
Came in as a Pinch Runner Defensive Replacement….and instead got the an insurance run with a 2 out single in the 9th

JOKER

GLOVES

Good god, the Giants played about a sloppy a game as they have all year….passed balls, errant throws, dropped popups….this game had loss written all over it……and against a better team they would have been blown out of the water…..but a timely DP, timely hitting and some good pitching stole the Giants a win there…..the Giants have not looked sharp on this road trip…..and I don't buy the tired excuse….. they came back from the last trip 4-3 ….sure this trip is a few more miles…..but they just had 2 off days on either side of the Toronto series…….

SMACK OF THE STICK :
FELIZ
Fallen from the limited game he had when he left…..used to be Good Glove, Power Bat with lots of holes in it…..now its no glove no bat to speak of…..a player like Pedro don't get much rope when he falls off his game, and looks like Pedro is just about out of chances…..

TORRES
Nose dived quickly…..swings and misses…pop ups……a few weeks ago you never saw this……has the league adjusted?? from what I see…its more of a question of Torres getting himself out on pitches he was hitting before…I am thinking mechanical flaw leading to a doubts and all that compounding on itself…..man, It sure sucks sometime to be a switch hitter……can you imagine trying to be consistent with 2 swings???

(The fine print: There will be cussing and bad taste. This is written with the heat of the moment feel you may have during the game, with rational thought sprinkled in now and then. This is entertainment folks, sure there is a lot of truth and I am a genius, but this is all about having a laugh and enjoying the ride…….now lets go heckle Jeff Kent in when he gets inducted to Cooperstown..)
