GAMEBALL and JOKER--> DODGERS at GIANTS 9/13

Well that was a relief….the Giants got on the board early and then despite a Frustrating 4th and 5th inning, were able to break through with a big inning in the 6th and give the Dodgers a taste of their own medicine….Add that to a Rockies loss and the Giants playoff hopes refuse to be extinguished…..The Trio that performed the sweep of the Rockies last month are back for an encore…..Lets hope Lincecum, Zito, and Cain are up the challenge….and maybe Renteria has another slam in him…..BTW, Did you notice that the Padres have taken 2 of 3 from the Dodgers, Giants, and Rockies in sucession??? and the first two series were on the road……

GAMEBALL and JOKER--> DODGERS at GIANTS 9/13

GAMEBALL

PENNY

The Giants have found their late season shot in arm from a man who is two bolts in the neck and a forehead scar away from a Halloween costume. Got some early support with a 2 run shot in the second, but got in and out of trouble in the 4th… the Giants offense put up a single run while failing to break through with a crooked number in the frustrating 4th and 5th…..but Penny was able to keep the potent Dodgers offense in check in a game that could have easily have swung to the Dodgers at any point…..It wasn’t until the Giants broke through with a 4 spot in the 6th that you could take a deep breath and have some confidence we wouldn't see a repeat of the first two days……Penny was even able to make it all the way through seven which means we would only see the best the Giants bullpen had to offer….Good job Pinhead, the only way you could have improved the performance would be to bean Blake and then run over to the 3rd base coaches box and sucker punch Bowa…..

TIP OF THE CAP :
URIBE
Tempted to give it to The UUUUUU…….but with the shellacking the Giants pichers have taken at the hands of the Dodgers, I had to give it to the pitcher…..The UUUUUUU used his full body swing to get the Giants on the board with a 2 run shot. in the 2nd, was in the middle of the 1 run "rally" in the 4th, and then singled to lead off the 4 run 6th…..

ISHI
Looked good at the plate and in the field…. kid is swinging a hot stick…and I am still digging the play he made on the foul ball grounder…..you know he was reminding Bochy that he catches EVERYTHING

WINN
3 Hole, not good….. 2 hits and making me shut up? VERY good…..

THE REST OF THE BATS
I could list everyone, but I will just say that the bats had life today and were abel to sustain the rally through the pitching changes,….

JOKER

AT&T PARK

There is a unfortunate side effect to having a Jewel of a Ballpark in the Most Scenic City on the West Coast…..Dodger Fans……first of all the park is beautiful with great amenities and site lines…..it has become a mecca for baseball fans of all teams, just to be able to experience a game from the shores of McCovey Cove…..second, the location inside the city is conducive to tourism, you can take in a ball game, go out for dinner, go site seeing and all that without much travel….. If you don't believe me, head up to Coit tower right after a ball game, I guarantee you are going to see Giants hats and often the caps of whatever visiting team is in town…well, except for the 12 Padres "Fans" in the world.…….And lastly and most importantly……AT&T Park is safe for Dodger Fans….in stark contrast to the Candlestick days where Beer flowed free and you would see a burning LA Cap at least as often as you see the Grounds Crew drag the infield….With the popularity of the park, many of the fans who could go to Candlestick and have 7 beers, aren't getting to as many games at AT&T Park….and if they do have 7 beers and get Rowdy, often times they would be kicked out as to not upset the sensibilities of the more affluent clientel…..So Dodger fans in droves are making vacation plans around AT&T Park and flood into our city in greater and greater numbers…..really there is only one thing I can think of to do…..make AT&T less friendly to these Fuckers……I will be seeking donations to help fund a charity that benefits the underprivileged…..This charity will help fund tickets to Dodger games for Giants fans, as well as some pocket money and a map to the liquor store closest to AT&T…..to qualify, you must be a "Rehabilitating" offender, you must be a diehard Giants fan with a SF Tattoo as proof…. once we get the ball rolling on this, we should not only make these fans lives a little better, but will likely make AT&T a little less friendly

SMACK OF THE STICK :
WHITESIDE
Bloop hit aside, this guy is useless at the plate and was prone to mental mistakes behind the plate…..The Catchers interference and the dropped "pass ball" on the fake pickoff to 2nd threatened to derail Penny's day…..Penny was able to work through it…..but at this point I can't believe that Posey wouldn't be am improvement….

LONEY
Dude, you missed the ball and then slammed into the Ump….Ump unfazed, while you laid on the ground in pain….good god, is the umpire that much tougher that you????

EXTRA STUFF:
Today was strike out violence day….and seriously, if you ever hit a woman or kid, you are sick fuck……seek help now…..
But anyways, they had Jonathan Sanchez as a figure head….yes, as I joked about the "Ho Hitter"….they ACTUALLY Used it…..Sanchez No Hitter on the Field, you No Hit Her at home…….corny, but I will give them some credit for trying to tie it into baseball….They Really should have had Rowand out there……I can see him now "Giants fans…You hate it when I choke on the field, well… I hate it when you choke at home"…..sheer genious, I shoulda been in marketing…..

EXTRA STUFF II
ok, so I am sitting there and these Boobs walk by….I mean, they had their own zip code and were sticking STRAIGHT out…these suckers woulda poked your eyes out if you got too close.….…..they were attached to a very attractive blonde, who was accompanied by a man with a closely shaved Mohawk……HEY THAT’S COUTURE!!....no, that’s not right……oh yeah, that’s CHUCK LIDELL!!!.... Chuck was a sport signing Autographs, posing for pictures, kissing babies….hell I think he even signed a few babies……nice guy, was cool with the interruptions all game long…..and sorry if my description of your significant other was off color…that’s what the people want….don't hurt me, hurt THEM…and no, I wasn't about to ask the blonde to pose….

2006 Sausage Review # 20 Hebrew National Polish Dog

Name: Hebrew National Polish Dog
Price: $6.25
Location: Behind section 112
Condiments: Relish and Yellow Mustard
Cooked: Grilled
Size: Medium/ Large
Detail:
Had some bad experiences at this stand, so I have grown weary......
"Whatchuwananit" the Vendor asked, once I was able to peel her away from her conversation.....
My Mind flashed back to the San Francisco Dog.... and I said....... "NOTHING!"
So I garnished lightly with Relish and anonymous yellow mustard and made my way back to my seat.....
The bread was very soft and had some good chew... a little large for the dog, but not a problem....
The skin gave way freely and had a somewhat stiff texture.....
The sausage itself was a little unexpected......very subtle flavor..had a hint of a sour tang to it. and was just a hint salty, but not bad....
I would describe the flavor as a quality hot dog with a hint of polish flavor........
Nothing special, but really not a bad dog...
Had a pretty good size to it, but not huge.....
Not a great value, not a great dog......but really not bad either.....
This is as middle of the road as they come.....
I would eat one again... but there are at least 5 others at ATT I would rather have

2006 Sausage Review #19 Murph's Chili Dog

Name: Murph's Chili Dog
Price: $6.25
Location: Behind section 122
Condiments: Chili, Cheddar, White Onions, Jalapeno's,
Cooked: Grilled
Size: Medium/ Large
Detail:
Now I am not a big fan of the messy dogs, or a big fan of chili.....
But they did a very good job with this dog....
Starts with a sesame roll that is soft and perfectly sized for the dog.
Add a grilled Hebrew National thats a little salty....
Poar on the top of that some Chili Con Carne of pretty good quality...
The Chili is good not great, and tasted like it could have come from a can...
But the real winner here is the mixture of all the tastes...
Real Cheddar that melts right into the chili, sprinkle that with some white onion,
and then top if off with some pickled Jalapeno's....
Even someone who is not fond of Chili dogs thought that this is a winner....
you HAVE to eat this with a fork...and really this dog was more like a Chili Bowl with Cheeze and Jalapenos in a bread bowl, that just happened to have a pretty good sausage at the bottom.....
If this sounds like your kinda meal, order it and you wont be disappointed....
I will be going back for second helpings myself =D

2006 Sausage Review #18 Evergood Smoked Bratwurst

Name: Evergood Smoked Bratwurst
Price: $5.25
Location: Evergood Sausage stand behind Section 115 Near Panda Express
Condiments: Sauerkraut, Guldens
Cooked: Grilled
Size: Med/ Large
Detail:
Bread was soft, and had a little chew.
Bread was good sized for the sausage. The skin was charcoaled up pretty well, and had a little crunch as it peeled away from the meat.
They took the smoked part seriously as the smokey flavor dominated the taste.
Texture was a bit marbled, and the meat came apart easily.
It was a just a bit greasy and just a bit salty...
Taste is not your usual bratwurst, and tastes quite a bit similar to the Polish Kielbasa.
Overall not a bad sausage, please note this is the least popular of the three sausages at the stand and later in the game when things have been busy this sometimes is the only sausage available

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 Blocked Arteries

2006 Sausage Review #17 Sheboygan Bratwurst

Name: Sheboygan Brawurst
Price: $6.25
Location: Behind section 134
Condiments: Grilled Sauerkraut (also available with Grilled Onions)
Cooked: Grilled
Size: Medium/ Large
Detail:
Ahhhh... the Barry Bonds of ATT Sausage....
The Sheboygan brat is no secret anymore, and the long line in section 134 chokes the traffic on the promenade like Mama Cass' Ham Sandwich.
The stand gives off a mouth-watering sausage smell that permeate the surrounding sections.
Peering through the glass window of the stand, the sausages lined up and browning, the mounds of sauerkraut and onions sizzling on the grill comprise a scene that makes your stomach grumble.
I ordered a Bratwurst with grilled Sauerkraut, and to my delight the Kraut was grilled and brown. With the high turnover of the stand, sometimes they don’t have time to brown the sauerkraut.
Excellent visual presentation of the grilled sauerkraut, with the twin browned stripes on the bratwurst.
The bread was a sesame roll that had a little crunch and a little chew.... and was perfect size for the Sausage....
Just the very tip of the sausage would peek past the ends of the roll
The server actually rejected the first roll from the bag because of size, which showed an attention to detail and the pride put into the serving of the sausage.
The sauerkraut was grilled and was not soggy...had a little tang and a little salt.... perfect for my tastes
The skin of the sausage is thin, and gives way easily with a gentle pop... after penetration the skin was virtually undetectable as it disappeared into the mouthful of sausage.
The sausage itself is not greasy, not over salty, and has a very fine marbled texture.
The tang of the brat spices is perfectly balanced with the meat, and you can detect some pork flavor.
The taste of the bratwurst is hard to describe, but this is traditional Wisconsin Bratwurst, not smoked, and VERY flavorful...
I believe the predominate spices are Marjoram and Nutmeg (you can correct me if I;m wrong), which make a unique flavor combination with the Pork.
Overall, as close to a perfect sausage as you can get....
Served behind section 134, 106, and in View level.
Also served in Field club lounge WITHOUT grilled onions or kraut.
Sometimes served below the bleachers for sell out games....
If you like sausage, you MUST try the Sheboygan brat....
This is a sausage that belongs in COOPERSTOWN!

2006 Sausage Review #16 Chicken Apple Sausage

Name: Chicken Apple Sausage
Price: $5.50
Location: Field Club Lounge
Condiments: Relish, Guldens
Cooked: Steamed
Size: Medium/ Small
Detail:
Chicken Apple Sausage?
Sounds pretty good!
So I was optomistic going in, but was soon to be disappointed.
Bread size matched the short fat sausage well.
Bread was soft and little mushy from sitting in the wrapper for who knows how long.
Skin was thin, and popped easily, revealing a mush of meat and fruit.
The Mustard and Relish were a bad choice, as the sausage had an Apple Cinnamon quaility....
What tasted like pork had a little tang to it and overall the flavors were not good together.
Not salty, and the the sausage was OK.
If I had to do over again, I would go without condements.
But I have a pretty good idea of what the flavor would be like, and I would rather pass on this sausage.
Not a bad buy for the $$$, but not worth the room in your stomach

2006 Sausage Review #15 Hebrew National San Francisco Dog

Name: Hebrew National San Francisco Dog
Price: $6.25
Location: Hebrew National behind 112, at the top of Escalator
Condiments: Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut, White Onions, Pickle, Thousand Island Sauce
Cooked: Grilled
Size: Med/ Large
Detail:
Back to the Hebrew National Stand for God's Sausage
So I ordered the San Francisco Dog (no, not made from Tofu and Pot).....
and the guy asked me what I wanted on it.
"Whatever comes on it" I replied without reading the sign
"um......OK...." the man replied trying to control his giggling....
Uh oh, what did I get my stomach in to????
Well I got the large piece of bread with a pile of Sauerkraut on it, which made it impossible to eat by conventional means.
So I start picking off the sauerkraut (don't worry I was eating it) to see what lay beneath...
And much to my dismay I discover the LAST thing a human should have on a sausage... THOUSAND ISLAND????
Excuse me waiter???? Why don't you just put Croutons and some Green Olives on it
So the condiments were a nightmare.... Just a mish mash of whatever some idiot thought sounded good......
This is the same Dog was salty from being marinated in black grease in the grill
Was on a twist roll that was soft with a hint of crunch.
Dog had a good texture which is normal for the hebrew national.
Now Hebrew National is my favorite store bought Hot Dog, but in the park with the greasy grill and weird toppings....
This quality sausage gets ruined....
Onions were soggy white onions
Swiss Cheese was grated and sparse.
Pickles were standard dill spears.

Minus Points for condiments, and the grease factor

2006 Sausage Review #14 Old Fashioned Corn Dog

Name: Old Fashioned Corn Dog
Price: $6.25
Location: Field Club Lounge
Condiments: None
Cooked: I assumed baked?
Size: Medium/ Large
Detail:
Not a big fan of corn dogs either, but what the hey.
Comes served in a foil sleeve to keep warm.
Ideally would like to dip the Corn Dog into Mustard with each bite, but that would be a little messy in my seat...
so the Corn Dog was left to stand on its own.
First impression is much larger than your normal Corn Dog.
Corn Bread was actually pretty good. Was a thin layer of Corn Bread and was crunchy.
Corn Bread had a good flavor to it.
Sausage was a plain hot dog, not to salty, not spicy, nothing special.
Really not much to say here except good size overall, good Corn Bread, plain but solid hot dog inside.
At $6.25 it is NOT a good value.
Minus for Cost

Overall Rating: 2 1/2 out of 5 Blocked Arteries

2006 Sausage Review #13 Coney Island Dog

Name: Giants Coney Island Dog/ Chili Dog
Price: $5.00 + tip
Location: Field Club In Seat Menu
Condiments: Chili Cheese
Cooked: Steamed
Size: Medium
Detail:
I am not fond of messy dogs, but I will try this one for the record.
Very Very Messy, you NEED a fork for this one.
First impression was good.
Chili con carne was pretty good quality.
Was not over sour, and tasted like it was handmade, and NOT from a can.
Chili is better than Hormel ever made.
Note the REAL CHEEDAR CHEESE, which was tasty.
The hot dog itself was pretty pedestrian. Not too salty, not overspiced, but nothing special at all.
Hot dog was much like you would expect from Oscar Meyer.
Bread was softand not too soggy considering it was covered in chili.
Pretty good for a chili dog.
A better quality sausage would have raised the rating quite a bit.
But at $5 this is one of the cheapest sausage buys at ATT

Served with a small cup of with minced white onions, which I did not use

Pluses for price real cheese and chili
Minus for average to below average sausage

I tried eliminate my bias against messy dogs in the rating.

2006 Sausage Review #12 Lemon Chicken

Name: Sey Hey Lemon Chicken
Price: $5.25
Location: Sey Hey Sausage stand behind Section 126
Condiments: Naked
Cooked: Steamed
Size: Med
Detail:
I like Lemons
I like Chickens
I like Sausage
What could go wrong................ famous last words
The bread was soft, and had some chew, and thats the only thing that was not HORRIBLE about this sausage.
It's hard to describe how BAD this sausage was.
First, overpowering Oregano!!!. I might as well lick a Spice Islands Jar clean.....
Lemon you say?.... hard to tell there if there was once lemon flavor in there...
Oversalty, Dry, and TOUGH... like eating dried out dog biscuits
FUCK, I would prefer a good Dog Biscuit to this crap!!!
This is probably the first Lemon Chicken sausage they sold all year, and this shit has been sitting there since opening day drying out.

And HOW EXACTLY does a STEAMED SAUSAGE end up DRY???

Man, my stomach hurts just thinking about it.

Never thought it could be so BAD.

2006 Sausage Review #11 Grilled Home Run Dog

Name: Grilled Home Run Dog
Price: $6.25
Location: Doggie Diner Cart stand behind Section 135 Near LF Bleachers
Condiments: Guldens Mustard and Relish
Cooked: Grilled
Size: Large
Detail:
Good looking dog, rich reddish color with just a bit of burnt skin.
Bread was substantial and just a little tough, but easy to eat. Like a really soft Dutch Crunch Character. This bread could handle LOTS of toppings without falling apart.
So I went for the relish in addition to the mustard, and glad I did.
Skin gave way easily and had nice slightly dry texture from being grilled.
The meat texture was ok, not overly soft, but not tough.
Not greasy, not very salty.... but also not very tasty.
Not a bad dog, but short on spice.
Pretty good size, but not cheap at $6.25....
This dog is for the mild palette, and even then... better load up on the condiments. Can be served with Grilled Sauerkraut.

2006 Sausage Review #10 Evergood Hot Link

Name: Evergood Hot Link
Price: $5.25
Location: Evergood Sausage stand behind Section 115 Near Panda Express
Condiments: Guldens Mustard
Cooked: Grilled
Size: Med/ Large
Detail:
So my sausage crusade has lead me to many sorry sausages...but its time for my luck to change
Nice dark red color with a hint of black from the grill..
Soft but substantial sesame seed roll...
I sit down and take my pics and then dig in...
:holy: This is a GOOD SAUSAGE!!!
The skin pops open, to reveal a spicy spicy sausage with a good texture. Not overly greasy, and very tasty.
Now, this HOT SPICE does not kill you, but it gives a very good FLAVOR are you DEVOUR this Dog.
WELL ROUNDED HOT SPICE.
EVERYTHING a HOT LINK SHOULD BE....
All I can say is .... FUCKING GOOD.....
Suprisingly, the Hot disappears once the sausage is gone.
No aftermouth burn...But leaves you wanting more...

ONE OF THE BEST OF ATT PARK

Warning: I DO LIKE HOT FOOD...
This was a Medium/Hot while eating...
but Mild/ Med once completed...
Did not make me sweat, did not hurt, but if you are sensative to hot food, avoid this dog.

2006 Sausage Review #9 Hebrew Chicago Dog

Name: Hebrew National Chicago Dog
Price: $6.25
Location: Hebrew National behind 112, at the top of Escalator
Condiments: Mustard, Emerald Relish, White Onion, Tomato, Pickle Spear, Celery Salt, Sport Peppers
Cooked: Grilled
Size: Med/ Large
Detail:
Hebrew Nats.... We answer to a higher authority..... and GOD LOVES SAUSAGE!!!!
Ok....Chicago Dog... So I got it with the WORKS....
Very Nice visual presentation, and that Bright Green Relish is disgusting and pretty fucking cool all at the same time.
The Dog is grilled and they keep it warm ON THE GRILL in a pool of black grease....
The Bread, was a twist roll that maybe had a hint of shortening. A little crunch to the crust, but otherwise decently soft.
The Dog was hard to eat with all that stuff, but I tried to be true to the Dog and ate all together....
That didn't last long, as the bread started giving way and the goodies started falling out of the Dog. Too messy for my taste.
The Dog itself had a good texture. The skin was a little dry and brittle from being grilled a long time, and the meat had a nice texture. The dog has that great Hebrew National flavor, but also had a hint of stale grease from sitting on the grill too long. Was too salty from the grease as well.
The Condiments were good, except the Celery Salt mixed with the Salty Dog, was just too salty for my taste..... Not horrible, just a little too salty.
Sport peppers had a little bite, which was good.
Tomatos were standard store bought.
Pickles were standard dill spears.

Overall, was as expected from a Chicago Dog. Not great, not bad.
I personally prefer less fixens, but if you like a Chicago Dog, this would be a solid dog.
Plus points for the visual
Minus Points for the Salt Level
My personal dislike for messy dog was not factor in overall rating (otherwise a 2 1/2)

2006 Sausage Review #8 Colossal Dog with Kraut

Name: Colossal Dog with Kraut
Price: $5.50
Location: Gilroy Garlic Fries/ Gordon Biersch Behind Section 119
Condiments: Sauerkraut
Cooked: Steamed
Size: Small/ Med
Detail:
Its on the list, otherwise I wouldn't bother....
After the guy figured out how to get the kraut out of the pot and onto the dog (about a 4 minute mind bender)... I headed back to my seat.
The bread was a HOT DOG BUN??? Haven't seen one of those since my parents had a 4th of July Cookout in the 80's.
Bland, soft, kinda mushy, tasteless Hot Dog Bun....
And the dog? Well about the same thing. Bland, Tasteless, kinda mushy.
Not salty at all, not really much of a flavor or spice to speak of.....
About as satisfying as eating Wonder Bread....
At least it didn't taste BAD.....
Not worth my time
Not worth your time
Not worth anymore typing

2006 Sausage Review #7 California Grill Polish Kielbasa

Name: California Grill 1/2 Pound Polish Kielbasa
Price: $6.75
Location: California Grill ABOVE Lefty O'Doul Gate stairs behind section 102 on Promenade Level
Condiments: Peppers and Onions
Cooked: Grilled and Drowned
Size: VERY LARGE
Detail:
OH MY GOD THATS THE SIZE OF MY FOREARM....
Smells GREAT.... WOW LOOKS LIKE SAUSAGE HEAVEN...
Well Looks can be decieving....
First of all, they grill the sausage, but they keep it warm in WATER? or BROTH?...
Well whatever it is, its Black Liquid....hmmmm... I guess thats ok.....
The Bread was a little stiff, but not stale....a sesame roll...but it was SOAKING WET from the "BROTH" of the sausage...and I am sure you know... wet bread= not good
The onions and peppers...SALTY AS THE SEA.....They musta been in their own brine liquid....
The Sausage itself was not bad... The texture was good, the skin broke freely and the meat crumbled with the marbled texture expected from a Kielbasa.
The first bite had liquid seep out, which at first felt like grease, but I soon realized was also due to the "Broth"
The meat flavor was good, but the Kielbasa spices were muted by sausage soaking in the liquid.
Even with the flaws of the liquid, it was still a good piece of meat, and the size was ridiculous.
Positive Points for Presentation, and Size
Major minus points for the soggy factor.

I prefer the Evergood Kielbasa anyday of the week (see review #3)

2006 Sausage Review #6 Italian Sausage

Name: Italian Sausage
Price: $5.25
Location: Sey Hey Sausage Specialties behind section 126
Condiments: Peppers and Onions
Cooked: Steamed
Size: Med/ Large
Detail:
OK.... I've eaten quite a bit of sausage by now...
I'm running out of sausage near the usual seats.
Gonna have to start trekking across the park.
That being said, time for the Good Old Italian from Sey Hey.

Well, visual presentation was not good. Sausage has a greenish brownish hue to it. The wilted green peppers added to the unappealing look.
The bread was soft and compact, like all the sausages from this stand.
The sausage had a good texture, skin was very soft and the meat fell apart in your mouth. Weak fennel seed flavor, in fact the overall level of spice was a littler lower than expected. Additionally, sausage was not "hot spicy" in the slightest.
The flavor of the meat was good, and you can tell this is quality sausage.
The unappealing look, and the lower than desired spice level drags down the rating of what is otherwise a SOLID sausage.

Overall Rating: 2 1/2 out of 5 Blocked Arteries

2006 Sausage Review #5 Old World Italian Sausage

Name: Old World Italian Sausage
Price: $5.75
Location: Taste of North Beach behind section 125
Condiments: Peppers and Onions
Cooked: Grilled
Size: Small
Detail:
I could tell this wasn't going to be good for two reasons.
1) The thing looked so pitiful
2) NO LINE
BUT... I have committed to eat all 24, and I don't take that commitment lightly.....so I figured.. best get it out of the way....
In retrospect..... I wish I only was committed to 23 sausages.

This sausage flat out sucked.... it WAS WORSE than it looks.
The bun was sourdough and was dry tough and chewy..... and the size was totally mismatched to the sausage. And if that wasn't enough, it fell apart on the first bite.
The Sausage skin was very tough, and when it finally popped, a stream of grease spewed in front of me about 3 feet. Strong fennel seed flavor was not bad, and you could feel the seeds between your teeth. Just a little hot spicy, like a little red pepper.
The whole time I'm thinking... "DO ANYONE ACTUALLY THINK THIS IS GOOD?"
Horrible horrible sausage..... Probably the worst in the park ( I Hope)
DON'T DO IT

(PS, I had the 40 clove sandwich a while back... HORRIBLE as well... I think the only thing at this stand worth trying is the beer and the Tiramisu looked good....)

2006 Sausage Review #4 Louisiana Hot Link

Name: Louisiana Hot Link
Price: $5.25
Location: Say Hey Sausage Specialties behind section 126
Condiments: Guldens
Cooked: Steamed
Size: Med/Large
Detail:
Pleasant Surprise.. damn good sausage
Bun was perfect size for the sausage, and the bread compact but soft.
The skin of the sausage gave way freely, but had some chew after it was broken.
Really nice texture, similar to the Kosher (see review #2)
Good flavor, not too salty, and not greasy at all.
QUITE A BIT of spice...MUCH more than I was expecting.
The spice is more in the form of mouth burning after the fact, than it is in flavor up front.
Could use more "up front flavor spice" than "after the fact, I need a beer spice"

Now to give you a gauge of the spice I will say this.
Pace Hot Picante Sauce is a good level of spice, and mouth burns, but won't cause me to sweat.
This was probably just a shade spicier than the Pace Hot.
(picked Pace as the example, because I assume many people can use as point of reference)

All told a very good sausage... not great.... but recommended.. with a cold beverage

2006 Sausage Review RAIN OUT Edition Evergood Bockwurst

Name: Evergood Bockwurst
Price: $4.49 for a 4 pack
Location: My House
Condiments: Beaver Horseradish Mustard
Cooked: Broiled
Size: Large
Detail:
Well... don't look as good as the ones at the park
Skin is a little chewy, but burst during cooking.
Very nice subtle Bockwurst flavor.
Flavor is not overpowering at all, has a hint of a veal flavor (ummm... baby cow)
The Bread was EarthGrains French Roll.
The bread is very soft and some chew.
Not greasy at all, a good bockwurst.
But sitting here in front of the TV watching Bomko lose.. something is missing.... GIANTS BASEBALL.
Major minus points for not being served at the ballpark!!
