WOW…..just WOW…….Mr Flukey hit crushed TWO oppo shots for 7th and 8th Home Runs this year…..that's 5 Dingers this month……are you getting fucking pumped about this kid???? Power from both sides of the plate, high average……deceptive speed….can play either corner…..my god, in my minds eye the sky is the limit……still just 22 years old and under Giants control…..he's not just a nice piece to have or a stopgap on the way to something better…..this is the kind of player you can build around……a charismatic, energetic STAR in the making…..and all in a loveable, marketable package……..

February 28th 2009 Peoria Arizona, and I fell in love with a lithe Latin man named Andres Torres. It wasn't the way the desert sun gleamed off his jewelry, or even the way his easy smile warmed everyone around him. No, it was the way he glided through the open spaces of center field and snared fly balls like no one in recent Giants memory. Who was this kid and what farm team was he with last year, I pondered. Certainly someone with such ability and exuberance couldn't be a 4A retred? The way the ball jumped off his bat, the way he flew down the line, could this just be an overlooked veteran? Well, Andres was a 4A retred…..perhaps never given a fair shake before….perhaps not mature enough to take advantage of chances before….whatever it was, you could tell he was determined to get himself one more shot, even as the last man on the bench…..and tonight…..he again makes his case for playing time with a MASSIVE BLAST into the water……he may not supplant any of the starters, and he certainly won't overcome Rowand's hot bat and fat contract…..but he looks like he will get his share of playing time and hopefully be a Giant for quite a while longer……

That Zito support came too late for Barry…..but I think the Giants walk away from this feeling pretty good……we can slug with the big boys….that's 5 Homers in 2 games…..and since being embarrassed by West in Florida…that’s 38 runs in 7 games, or 5+ runs a game……

Well…Zito brought his fastball……unfortunately he didn't bring much else as the Angels kicked the SNOT out of him to the tune of 10 hits and two HR's in less that 4 innings…….They had a game plan…..lay off the curve……stay back and go the other way with the soft stuff away…….and when you came in….it belt high and crushed…….
All it too was a few hits to right and a couple of bombs and you were out of the game……the stuff was there, the execution was not……gotta keep them honest and come in……but really, you had no time to adjust…….but every other team is going to be watching this film…..you better adjust or keep getting smacked around……and hey….no walks!!! Freaking Joker…..

Can't bad mouth him too much….And actually I would even dare to say he's getting better…….just keep working on it…..it will come…..and honestly his best moment was in Pregame talking about Darren Baker….he was genuinely enjoying himself and relaxed……a little personality goes a long way…..
