2006 Sausage Review #13 Coney Island Dog

Name: Giants Coney Island Dog/ Chili Dog
Price: $5.00 + tip
Location: Field Club In Seat Menu
Condiments: Chili Cheese
Cooked: Steamed
Size: Medium
Detail:
I am not fond of messy dogs, but I will try this one for the record.
Very Very Messy, you NEED a fork for this one.
First impression was good.
Chili con carne was pretty good quality.
Was not over sour, and tasted like it was handmade, and NOT from a can.
Chili is better than Hormel ever made.
Note the REAL CHEEDAR CHEESE, which was tasty.
The hot dog itself was pretty pedestrian. Not too salty, not overspiced, but nothing special at all.
Hot dog was much like you would expect from Oscar Meyer.
Bread was softand not too soggy considering it was covered in chili.
Pretty good for a chili dog.
A better quality sausage would have raised the rating quite a bit.
But at $5 this is one of the cheapest sausage buys at ATT

Served with a small cup of with minced white onions, which I did not use

Pluses for price real cheese and chili
Minus for average to below average sausage

I tried eliminate my bias against messy dogs in the rating.

Overall Rating: 2 1/2 out of 5 Blocked Arteries
