Ahhhh... the Barry Bonds of ATT Sausage....
The Sheboygan brat is no secret anymore, and the long line in section 134 chokes the traffic on the promenade like Mama Cass' Ham Sandwich.
The stand gives off a mouth-watering sausage smell that permeate the surrounding sections.
Peering through the glass window of the stand, the sausages lined up and browning, the mounds of sauerkraut and onions sizzling on the grill comprise a scene that makes your stomach grumble.
I ordered a Bratwurst with grilled Sauerkraut, and to my delight the Kraut was grilled and brown. With the high turnover of the stand, sometimes they don’t have time to brown the sauerkraut.
Excellent visual presentation of the grilled sauerkraut, with the twin browned stripes on the bratwurst.
The bread was a sesame roll that had a little crunch and a little chew.... and was perfect size for the Sausage....
Just the very tip of the sausage would peek past the ends of the roll
The server actually rejected the first roll from the bag because of size, which showed an attention to detail and the pride put into the serving of the sausage.
The sauerkraut was grilled and was not soggy...had a little tang and a little salt.... perfect for my tastes
The skin of the sausage is thin, and gives way easily with a gentle pop... after penetration the skin was virtually undetectable as it disappeared into the mouthful of sausage.
The sausage itself is not greasy, not over salty, and has a very fine marbled texture.
The tang of the brat spices is perfectly balanced with the meat, and you can detect some pork flavor.
The taste of the bratwurst is hard to describe, but this is traditional Wisconsin Bratwurst, not smoked, and VERY flavorful...
I believe the predominate spices are Marjoram and Nutmeg (you can correct me if I;m wrong), which make a unique flavor combination with the Pork.
Overall, as close to a perfect sausage as you can get....
Served behind section 134, 106, and in View level.
Also served in Field club lounge WITHOUT grilled onions or kraut.
Sometimes served below the bleachers for sell out games....
If you like sausage, you MUST try the Sheboygan brat....
This is a sausage that belongs in COOPERSTOWN!

Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 Blocked Arteries
