GAMEBALL and JOKE 4/15 GIANTS AT DODGERS

GAMEBALL and JOKE
4/15 GIANTS AT DODGERS

What a pretty fucking depressing night…..the Giants have the life sucked out of them by a shitty performance out of the pen……now we turn to Zito the stopper……..is it time to start scouting College Sophomores and High School Juniors yet??? I did mention you should see the San Jose Giants, right????

GAMEBALL

ROWAND

When we get tired of railing on Zito and Sabean…. we have often turned our venom toward the resident gamer…..Aaron Rowand……Overpaid, Overrated, and shoved down our throats by Giants Marketing in a post Bonds era……he has been a convenient target……The sad part is that for large parts of last season and so far this season he is one of a few real long ball threats on the Giants (albeit a pretty weak threat….sort of a threat written in crayon on construction paper)……and so it was tonight….Rowand looked to have earned himself at least 12 hours of luke warm admiration…….well, it didn’t work out that way….but at least you got the GAMEBALL

TIP OF THE CAP :
MOLINA
Kershaw was unhittable, and this team wasn’t going to touch him. If it wasn’t for a solo shot early in the game, the Dodgers might have no hitter to rub in our faces……

JOKER

HOWRY

Jesus fuck……the newly hired setup man was throwing pork chops to the hungry Dodger bats……blowing the 2 run lead and then blowing the tie, Howry looked the part of over the hill journeyman tonight……

SMACK OF THE STICK :
RENTERIA
Omar woulda made that play……..something tells me you are gonna hear that a lot this year…….

BOCHY
OK, pretty obvious to me that if there was a DH Rule, Wilson would been in the game to start the 9th…….but Bochy wanted to milk a turn of the lineup before going to Wilson……Rookie Mistake…….hell an 11 year old playing stratomatic can tell you that it don’t matter where Wilson bats in the 9th if you can't get there…..while Dodgers best reliever was mowing down Giants, our was throwing in the pen….not only that a tired hittable Howry was sent back out as if Bochy thought he magically would have his "stuff"
Additionally, I know the "book" always says you walk the bases loaded to set up a force at the plate…….I FUCKING HATE THAT…….you give yourself NO room for error….as soon as you go 2 balls on a hitter, he knows you have to groove one……and if you can't groove one, you get what you got tonight………so you are weighing the chances of a Walk or a meaty fastball down the pipe, against the unlikely even you get an "at em" ball and can turn a DP or a slow roller gets a force play instead of a tag play……..sure maybe a walk is the right move, but I don’t think its cut and dried…..especially with 0 outs……..at the very least you can pitch around the guy hoping he chases one trying to drive in that run……..
